Someone noticed Maricar Reyes' finger position at the story conference of her movie with John Lloyd and Bea Alonzo, Miss You Like Crazy. :) I laughed when I saw it. Didn't really notice it that easily. 

Maricar is getting good beaks after being involved in one of the much talked about pinoy scandals ever. She is so classy and sophisticated in Lovers in Paris. She was once the ex-wife of Sam Milby in And I Love You So. Perhaps, her silence on the issue all the more helped for her career now to flourish.

Showtime

Two shows gone, replaced by Showtime.

The show is a variety game show hosted are Kim Atienza, Vhong Navarro and Anne Curtis.  We all miss Ruffa and Ai, I believed it was it was good show because it as informative, but it had to go. It says that it was rating poorly. And , Game Ka na Ba?  It was one game show where viewers can really learn from.
Showtime is barely one week old. I am not so much fond of variety game shows. We do have a lot of game shows and reality shows on TV. I believe we should have more informative shows on TV. Why not move Matanglawin to this time slot?  But anyway,  I tried to take a glimpse of today's show. Was it really Anne Curtis, wearing a tight-fitting clothes on an early morning show?  No offense meant, but the show was a game show and it was not ASAP. It looked over the top. ........

7th Heaven little girl no more

Who wouldn't know the American Drama TV Series, 7th Heaven. We were all glued to our TV sets watching as it deals with moral lesson every family has to know. We got so endeared with every member of the family.

Angel 2 stay

I had posted last 25 October 2009 about the alleged rumor circulating that  Angel Locsin is transferring to Viva Artist Center. Last Sunday, on the Buzz show, Angel dispelled the rumor. She is definitely staying with the Kapamilya Network. True to her word, she had been through  the most controversial transfer from Kapuso to Kapamilya. 

So, it is confirmed, Angel 2 stay Kapamilya.

John Lloyd reunites with Bea Alonzo via Miss You Like Crazy

John Lloyd Cruz just recently renewed his exclusive contract with ABS-CBN for two years. He will have one more chance with Bea Alonzo via the movie "Miss You Like Crazy" in time for Valentines Day. After his movie, he is set to do a teleserye with Angel Locsin.

Miss You Like Crazy is his reunion movie with Bea Alonzo and joining them is Maricar Reyes. The shooting will start on November 16, 2009 and the movie is to be directed by box-office director, Cathy Garcia - Molina.

Ruffa Gutierrez, Miss World 2nd Princess, with an american accent makes us all thing that she is sosyal "sosi."

But in her latest tweet on her Twitter account says:

Oh wow, Ruffa Gutierrez is maka-masa pala, as in jologs, [many filipino linguists agree that the word originated from "diyolog" which stands for dilis (anchovies), tuyo (dried fish) and itlog (egg) - the food of the poor eating ]. There is no stopping Maria Shriver

The latest from TMZ, Maria Shriver does it again. She once again disobeyed the rules of the road, and parked her non-emergency vehicle in a red zone.

Maria should have known better - her husband, Arnold wrote the intro to the DMV's 2009 "California Driver Handbook."   On page 51, it clearly states the rules of the red zone, "Red: No stopping, standing, or parking." ........

Is Angel Locsin moving to Viva Artist Agency?

There is a poll being conducted on PEP.PH asking if it is a wise career move for Angel Locsin to transfer to Viva Artist Agency? How long has Angel been with ABS-CBN? 2007 was the year she moved to Kapamilya Network. Claudine Barretto has just recently signed up with Viva Artist Agency. If we remember it right, Angel and Claudine had a parlor scandal  back in 2008.

Personally, I believe that Angel is doing well in ABS and she should stay with ABS. In fact, she is being nominated for International Emmys ( TV)  in the Best Actress category for her role in Lobo  and that is quite an accomplishment in her 2-year stay with ABS-CBN.

Just Perfect

I have been watching Lovers in Paris (pinoy version) right from day one. What can I do? I greatly admire KC Concepcion. Her beauty, intelligence. LIP has no boring scene and it is fast paced. The musical scoring was so amazing. I specially liked that scene where Maricar Reyes stared at her wedding ring and the song "He's out of my Life" was played, just right timing (episode 20). Everybody was sooooo good, acting wise. Zanjoe Marudo is a revelation. The eyes speak for itself.

October 23, 2009 episode was so breathtaking. The scene when KC asked Piolo what he got from Paris, and Piolo answered IKAW was magical.  Haaaayyyyy.   The long pause before he answered was perfect. This is one scene which I considered PERFECT, JUST PERFECT.

The UN - WFP has assured the  Philippines that the whole world will help the country in its recovery from the disaster brought about by typhoons "Ondoy" and "Pepeng."  The United Nations will be here to  help  in the recovery and rebuilding  and to make sure that the victims have the basic necessities it need.  United Nations executive director Josette Sheeran is here in the country to see the depth of the devastation brought about by typhoons.

Jackson Kids Involved in Car Accident

The car that was hit was reportedly Jackson security car. It was a good thing that Jackson kids were not in the car hit by paparazzo. The driver who hit the Jackson car reportedly fled immediately after the incident. In the state of California, leaving the crime after the accident is a crime. Joe Jackson reported to TMZ that he spoke to the kids' grandmother, Katherine and saying that the kids are all fine.

Assunta de Rossi's role in Lovers in Paris suits her

It was a good idea the Director FM Reyes casted Assunta de Rossi in Lovers in Paris. She is doing a great job as KC's former classmate, Eunice.  She is a revelation here, proving the she can do comedy without becoming OA.  One scene that made me laugh was when she spelled the word stress as S-T-R-E-S. And when her friend corrected her, she added the other S to the first one, making it SSTRES.  Watch her display her more  antics  in the upcoming episodes of  Lovers in Paris.

Nicolas Cage sues financial adviser

Actor Nicolas Cage has been hit by tax problems for his failure to pay his tax dues  dating back to 2007. 

The actor has blamed his financial adviser for misleading him over his monetary situation over a period of 7 long years. It further states that his adviser even charges him grossly for his professional fees. The adviser was said to have placed Nicolas Cage in numberous highly speculative and risky real estate investments resulting into losses. After learning of his financial condition, he fired his adviser, Samuel Levin and has hired top celebrity lawyer Marty Singer to represent him and demanding $20 million in damages.

The actor sold his Bavarian castle in Germany and one other property in Bath England. According to Forbes Magazine, Cage earned $40 dollars in the year ending June 2009.

GMA - 7 pulls out Sunshine Dizon from Tinik sa Dibdib

 

Tinik sa Dibdib, a Nora Aunor movie has been made into sine serye by GMA - 7. It was reported that Sunshine Dizon was pulled out from the show due to health reasons. But , there were reports circulating that the actress is on the family way but the actress' mom denied it. Sunshine's mother said that her daughter will take a vacation in the United States. There are also plans that she will go back to school there. Hmmmm, this might all the more ignite the rumor that the actress could probably be on the family way. Let us wait and see if there is really truth to this.
Nadine Samonte was reported to take the place of Sunshne Dizon. ........

Kapamilya, Shower Na

One of the things that I have seen that had become a good treat to all evacuees of the Ondoy victims is the free quickie showers (5-7 minutes) offered by ABS-CBN and DZMM radio station. The project called, "Kapamilya Shower Na"  addresses the hygiene needs of the victims, who have not taken a bath since that fateful September 26 Ondoy wrath. The project further aims to prevent the spread of the disease.

Victims can take a shower at the 20-footer truck with shower cubicles, 12 evacuees at a time. Shower areas are partitioned for both sexes, 6 cubicles for men and 6 for women.  They will be given a  hygiene kit from Unilever containing soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo and deodorant.

It was Anchorman Ted Failon who conceptualized the project. He worked with good friend, Architect Rene Hiray, president of the United Architects of the Philippines. The construction of the improvised shower cubicles took them only 4 and a half days to construct.

Good job!!! Salute to ABS-CBN, DZMM, Anchor Ted Failon and Arch. Rene Hiray. God Bless you and God Bless the Philippines. ........

Maria Shriver, violating the state law Arnold Schwarzenegger signed

The law, prohibiting the use of handheld phones while driving which was signed by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger took effect 01 July 2008. Penalty is $20 for the first violation and $50 for the succeeding ones.

But then, apparently, it was the Governor's wife, Maria Shriver who was caught violating the said law. TMZ.COM  the celebrity website posted two photos of her violation. One was taken in July and one was just last Sunday, October 11, 2009.

On his Twitter feed, the said Governor had said to TMZ founder, Harvey Levin: "Thanks for bringing her violations to my attention. There's going to be a swift action."

Angel Locsin, you are truly an angel

Angel Locsin is really one angel in the truest sense of the word. It was reported that she shelled-out P600,000 from her own pocket to help the victims of typhoon Ondoy.
What is even amazing is that she herself helped in carrying sacks of rice for the victims. You are indeed amazing. No wonder why Megastar wanted to adapt you as her daughter.

Boyzone Stephen Gately dies

 Stephen Gately, member of the disbanded band Boyzone  reported to have died in his sleep while vacationing in a Spanish island, Majorca. The 33-year-old Irish band singer was reportedly with partner, Andrew. The rest of the members of the band is said to be flying to Majorca.
From the Philippines, we would like to condole with his family. May he rest in peace.

Sharon is OK

While shooting BFF, Best Friends Forever, Sharon Cuneta found a lump on her breast. On SNN, she said that she and Kiko immediately left the country to have it checked. It was a good thing that the lump found was benign. Sharon and of course, her family got scared because the big C runs in her family. Thank God she is fine!!!

My Mother, Mano Po 6 set for Metro Manila Film Festival will be Regal Films' Official  Entry. It stars no less than the Megastar Sharon Cuneta. This will mark Sharon's first ever movie with Regal Films. Direk Joel Lamangan might be tapped again to do the directing. It was reported that Heart Evangelista will be playing the role of Sharon's daughter. Another first, Kris Aquino had just announced on SNN a few minutes ago that she will have a special guest appearance on the said movie. She (Kris) will be playing the role of Sharon's bestfriend in the movie. This is worth looking forward to.

The Philippines bagged three (3) nominations at the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.   ABS-CBN got 2 nominations namely: Ms. Angel Locsin, Best Actress Nominee for her role in Lobo (The Wolf) and  Kahit Isang Saglit (A Time for Us)  under Telenovela Category and one (1) for GMA-7, Magdusa Ka under same category, Telenovela. Angel Locsin must be really so proud of what she has become since she moved to ABS-CBN. True to her word, she has  indeed become an actress since her transfer. 

The winners will be announced at a glitzy black tie ceremoney in New York on the 23rd of November 2009.

John Gosselin cashed out $200,000

The very famous reality father, John Gosselin had cashed out a reported $200,000 from the joint-bank account with Kate leaving her with a measly $ 1,000. This came out after he appeard on the show, Larry King Live saying he wanted to repair his relationship with Kate. Kate filed a legal action against John, having a lawyer send a letter demanding the return of the said money.

David Letterman having an affair with his staff
