The law, prohibiting the use of handheld phones while driving which was signed by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger took effect 01 July 2008. Penalty is $20 for the first violation and $50 for the succeeding ones.
But then, apparently, it was the Governor's wife, Maria Shriver who was caught violating the said law. TMZ.COM the celebrity website posted two photos of her violation. One was taken in July and one was just last Sunday, October 11, 2009.
On his Twitter feed, the said Governor had said to TMZ founder, Harvey Levin: "Thanks for bringing her violations to my attention. There's going to be a swift action."
